My Simple + Mindful Morning Routine

My morning routine used to be so hectic. I’d hit snooze about 5 times, hop into the shower, get dressed (while also scarfing down my breakfast) and then quickly rush out the door.

After who knows how many years, I have finally perfected my simple and mindful morning routine. Simple, easy and stress-free. If you’re interested to hear how my morning goes, keep on reading!

Don’t touch the snooze button.

The moment my alarm goes off, I instantly hop out of bed without even thinking about it. Believe me, the moment you think about it is when you convince yourself to hit snooze again and again and again.

Hydrate first thing.

Pour yourself a large glass of water before staring your morning. You are more likely to be dehydrated in the AM and it will help jumpstart your metabolism as well!

Meditate.

Designate about 10 minutes to sitting in silence and observing your breathe. I love practicing guided meditations with the help of my favorite app, Calm.

Move your body.

After those 10 blissful minutes are over, I’ll change into my workout clothes and depending on the day + how I feel, move my body.

When I’m sensing soreness or I feel a little extra tired, I’ll just go for a relaxing walk along the marina. On other days, I’ll run, lift weights or go to a yoga class! As long as you are moving, you’ll be reaping the many health benefits!

Eat a well-balanced breakfast.

I love starting my day with a Fab 4 Smoothie! It provides the perfect combination of protein, fiber, healthy fats + greens to fuel my body.

Pick a breakfast combo that provides an array of nutrients! My other usual go-to is avocado toast with tomatoes, green onions, nutritional yeast and everything but the bagel seasoning!

Practicing these simple and easy habits makes the world of a difference. When I start my morning out on a positive note, it’s like a ripple that positively affects the remainder of my day! I love keeping things simple while also being mindful.
